Jacob’s practice is concentrated on real estate and business transactions, focusing on those involving environmental issues. Jacob’s practice also includes advising clients with respect to regulatory compliance, environmental remediation and underground storage tank cleanups, due care compliance, and environmental insurance claims.

Experience

 Jacob has assisted clients navigating complex regulatory frameworks in a wide variety of transactions, projects, and industries. He also regularly conducts business and real estate transactions involving acquisitions, buyouts, and asset and real property purchases and sales. In addition, Jacob routinely assists clients with business entity formation and governance and has prepared articles of incorporation, articles of organization, bylaws, operating agreements, and resolutions for a broad range of businesses and industries. Regardless of the client or their situation, Jacob delivers value by excelling at creative problem-solving and providing excellent legal analysis.

  • Represented homeowners seeking high-risk erosion area permits and variances under Part 323 (Shorelands Protection and Management).
  • Represented owners and operators of numerous sites and facilities with leaking underground storage tanks and other contaminated facilities regarding Part 213 and Part 201 cleanups and corrective action and response activity cost recovery, including successfully disputing MUSTA and private underground storage tank insurance claim denials.
