Gielow Groom Terpstra & McEvoy (“GGTM”) welcomes Nicolas M. Morano, who recently joined the growing ranks of experienced attorneys at GGTM. Nic has more than a decade of experience in counseling businesses and entrepreneurs in complex real estate and corporate matters.
As a Mona Shores High School graduate, Nic is excited to transition his practice back home to the Muskegon area after spending the first ten years of his career with a large law firm in Grand Rapids. Nic’s breadth of experience in a wide variety of real estate and corporate matters is a valuable asset to GGTM and its clients.
Nic has represented numerous businesses and entrepreneurs in the acquisition, sale and lease of commercial, industrial, office, medical and residential properties. He also represents owners, contractors and design professionals in the preparation and negotiation of construction contracts. Moreover, Nic has significant experience and expertise in condominium developments, where he represents developers, associations and co-owners in the creation and administration of various types of condominium projects, including residential, commercial, industrial, medical and mixed-use projects. Nic also has substantial experience in counseling clients on real estate finance, alternative energy and zoning matters.
In addition to his broad real estate expertise, Nic brings extensive corporate law experience to GGTM. He assists entrepreneurs and businesses in organizational planning and forming new business entities. He also represents clients in the acquisition and sale of businesses. He regularly represents and advises clients on governance, contracts and other general corporate matters.
Nic has been recognized by Michigan Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star” in the area of Real Estate Law. He is also a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association and the Muskegon County Bar Association.
After graduating from Mona Shores in 2001 where he was a member of the 2000 State Championship Golf Team, Nic earned his undergraduate degree with high distinction from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business in 2005. He subsequently graduated from the University of Notre Dame Law School with his Juris Doctor degree in 2008. Having degrees in both business and law, Nic understands that legal advice needs to be practical so that businesses and entrepreneurs can readily implement the advice to solve their legal issues.
Nic and his wife Whitney (Nehra) have spent the majority of their lives residing in Muskegon County. They recently moved back to Norton Shores where they live with their daughter, Avery, and son, Lincoln. Nic is active in the community, serving on the Norton Shores Planning Commission and the Mona Shores Public Schools Bond Oversight Committee.
