The Employers Association of West Michigan has opened the EXchange at www.exchangewestmi.com. The EXchange is a web-based and primarily ad-hoc system, supported by a pollution prevention grant from the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). Businesses, municipalities and organizations can place notices of materials that are no longer useable to them and are available for use by others. There are different categories on the EXchange site, and materials range from computers, packaging materials, construction materials, and solvents to lab coats and fiberglass. This forum opens up new possibilities for reuse of materials by direct sharing between businesses, municipalities and non-profit organizations. If a party is interested in the listed materials, the supplier can be contacted directly, with maintenance of confidentiality and no assessment of extra fees.
For more information on the EXchange, contact Lisa Sabourin, president and CEO of the Employers Association of West Michigan at (231) 759-0916, ext. 4003 or visit www.exchangewestmi.com.
