Scam Alert: Corporations Being Targeted by Services Offering to Prepare Corporate Forms for a Fee
If you have recently received, or if you do receive, a solicitation requesting that you submit $125 for the filing of corporate forms, DO NOT RESPOND. It is scam aimed at business owners in Michigan and several other states.
The Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) issued a press release on August 1, 2013, warning business owners about these solicitations. We encourage business owners to be on alert to this and other similar scams. If you are ever in doubt, DO NOT RESPOND. Instead, contact your attorney, or LARA directly before sending money to a third party.
