GGTM Welcomes Real Estate and Business Lawyer J. Scott Timmer To Its Team
Scott Timmer has joined Gielow Groom Terpstra & McEvoy (“GGTM”), adding strength to the firm’s growing legal team. Timmer is the seventh attorney to join GGTM, bringing with him more than 35 years’ experience in the practice of real estate and business law.
Timmer is well-regarded in the area of real estate, having published several articles and regularly speaking on a variety of real estate related topics. Timmer additionally serves as the co-chair of the Titles and Conveyancing Committee of the State Bar of Michigan’s Real Property Section and co-chair of the Section’s annual three-day summer conference, and is a member of the Section’s Amicus Committee. He is also a member of the Forms Committee of the Commercial Alliance of Realtors – West Michigan.
In addition to his real estate expertise, Timmer has extensive corporate law experience, including mergers and acquisitions and negotiating various business agreements.
Timmer is listed in “The Best Lawyers in America®” for Real Estate Law and is a Michigan “Super Lawyer” in the practice areas of both Real Estate and Business. Timmer is a member of the Grand Rapids Bar Association, the Muskegon County Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Timmer earned his undergraduate degree with high distinction and honors from the University of Michigan in 1977 and subsequently graduated from the University of Michigan Law School with his J.D. in 1980.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Timmer is a long-time Rotarian and a board member of the Ronald McDonald House of West Michigan. He also serves on the board of the Other Way Ministries. Timmer was a past president of Child and Family Services of Muskegon and the Interlaken Association.
